Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures- including restorative and surgical cases, as well as in-office and hospital based General Anesthesia cases.
- Place sealants as indicated.
- Coronal polish and perform prophy's on small children to adolescents. - Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take dental x-rays and PANO/Ceph/CBCT
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Maintain accurate and detailed dental records using Open Dental software
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes if help is needed in the front.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a PEDIATRIC dental assistant preferred.
- Proficiency in dental documentation and record keeping and creating treatment plans in Open Dental.
-Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant certification program
***Sealant and Coronal polish certification is REQUIRED.***
***N2O certification and current BLS-required***
-Bonus if familiar with treatment utilizing Oral Conscious Sedation or under General Anesthesia either In-Office or Dell Children's Hospital setting.
