Role Overview
BEPC is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Device Assembler to support our client’s manufacturing operations in Portland, OR. This position is responsible for producing high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell while following established procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards. In this role, you may perform a combination of assembly, repair, inspection, and testing activities involving pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are comfortable working with small components and are interested in contributing to the production of highly regulated medical devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations on medical devices and related components according to established procedures.
- Handle and maneuver small parts and components accurately in a manufacturing environment.
- Follow written procedures, work instructions, verbal directions, and applicable safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate production, traveler, and quality documentation to ensure product and component traceability.
- Utilize electronic data collection systems and applicable computer software.
- Ensure manufacturing cell documentation and operating procedures remain accurate and current.
- Identify and communicate manufacturing issues, ideas, and potential solutions clearly to supervisors and management.
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives designed to improve production processes, product quality, and operational performance.
- Support manufacturing goals and cell performance metrics established with supervisors and management.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and apply them within daily operations.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with internal teams and external visitors.
- Follow Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), safety, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support additional divisional and manufacturing initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and consistently follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to handle, maneuver, and assemble small components and parts.
- Ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
- Ability to maintain accurate manufacturing and quality records.
- Ability to prioritize assignments by determining the appropriate sequence and timing of work based on importance and production needs.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to follow established safety procedures and properly use required safety equipment.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make appropriate decisions within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, medical device, or other regulated production experience is a plus.
