Duties
- Assist customers in selecting plants and pottery that meet their needs and preferences
- Provide expert advice on plant identification, horticulture techniques, lawn care, landscape maintenance, and floral design
- Maintain attractive merchandising displays and ensure products are well-stocked and organized
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts
- Support inventory management through stocking shelves, organizing stockrooms, and conducting regular stock checks
- Offer exceptional customer service by answering questions over the phone and in person with clear communication skills
- Promote e-commerce options by guiding customers on online ordering or store pickup services
Requirements
- Prior outdoor work experience or gardening knowledge is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, retail math, and merchandising techniques
- Passion for plants, horticulture, floral design, and landscape maintenance
- Ability to identify various plants and provide gardening advice confidently
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain a tidy sales floor
- Customer service experience with a friendly attitude that fosters positive interactions
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Basic knowledge of lawn care equipment and landscape maintenance practices is advantageous
