Part-Time Videographer (Assistant Shooter)

About the Role
The Gillette Group is known across the real estate industry for cinematic YouTube listing videos. We produce high-end video for every price point, not just luxury, and our content is a core reason clients choose us over anyone else in the Valley.
We are hiring a part-time videographer to work alongside our Director of Videography as an assistant shooter. You will be on set for listing shoots, home tours, studio talking-head videos, agent content, and team events. This is a hands-on production role with real creative input and a clear path to full time as our production volume grows.
This is not an entry-level position. You need to already know how to run a camera, light a room, and capture clean audio without being walked through it.
What You'll Do
- Serve as second shooter on cinematic listing videos and property tours
- Set up and break down camera, lighting, audio, and grip gear on location
- Shoot studio-based talking-head content for agents, including market updates and educational videos
- Capture B-roll, lifestyle, neighborhood, and community footage across the East Valley
- Run gimbal and handheld movement work with steady, intentional camera motion
- Assist with lighting setups in occupied homes, vacant properties, and our studio space
- Monitor audio and frame consistency during takes
- Handle media offload, file organization, and backup according to our naming and folder structure
- Support live event and social content capture at team meetings, client events, and conferences
- Collaborate with the Director of Videography on shot lists, creative direction, and scheduling
- This role would not require much editing as we have a full team of editors.
What You Need
- Proven experience shooting video in a professional or paid setting
- A portfolio that shows your camera work, not just your editing
- Experience with gimbals and stabilized movement
- Experience with lighting, including working with natural light and knowing when to add to it
- Working knowledge of audio capture, including lav mics, and monitoring levels
- Reliable vehicle, valid Arizona driver's license, and current auto insurance
- Weekday daytime availability
- Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional early mornings, evenings for twilight shoots, and weekend events
- Professional appearance and communication, since you represent our brand in client homes
- Punctual, organized, and able to take direction without ego
- Would not be able to shoot real estate content outside of the Gillette Group
Preferred, But Not Required
- Prior experience shooting real estate, architecture, or interiors
- FAA Part 107 remote pilot certification and drone experience
- Experience with vertical short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
Hours and Compensation
- Approximately 15-25 hours per week to start
- W-2 position
- Mileage reimbursement
- Path to full time based on performance and production volume
- $25–$35/hour, with bonus opportunities. The role includes property tours, agent-led walkthroughs, vertical social content, lighting/camera work, and sometimes same-day footage; drone.
