Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Wood Finishing Expert to elevate the quality and appearance of our woodworking products in custom hardwood flooring. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for applying finishes, coatings, and paints to wood surfaces, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and aesthetic expectations. Your expertise in various finishing techniques, safety protocols, and material handling will contribute to delivering exceptional craftsmanship. you will be required to match and reproduce wood floor colors. Duties
- Prepare wood surfaces through sanding, surface cleaning, and surface preparation for finishing processes such as painting, staining, or coating.
- Operate spray guns, airless paint sprayers, powder coating equipment, and conventional spraying tools to apply finishes uniformly and efficiently.
- Interpret production documents including work orders, process sheets, and quality standards to ensure accurate application of finishes.
- Use precision measuring instruments and visual color comparison techniques to match colors and ensure consistency across products.
- Handle materials safely using appropriate PPE such as respirators, gloves, goggles, and adhere strictly to safety protocols during all finishing operations.
- Maintain equipment including hand tools, power tools, machining devices, and coating spray guns through regular cleaning and calibration.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall finishing quality.
Experience
- Proven experience in industrial painting or construction painting surface preparation within a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Knowledge of powder coating processes, auto painting techniques, and industrial painting standards.
- Familiarity with coating materials including paints, stains, lacquers, and primers; ability to interpret technical data sheets.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operation of spray guns, powder coating equipment, hand tools, power tools, and machining devices.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material quantities accurately.
- Experience working with safety protocols related to respiratory protection (respirators), PPE use, materials handling, and safety equipment maintenance.
- Understanding of quality standards in production finishing to ensure consistent results across batches.

Pay: $25.04 - $30.15 per hour
