GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide technical, administrative, and operational management while guiding a skilled team through shipboard availabilities, ensuring top-quality work every step of the way. You’ll be the bridge between the program managers, technical crews, and subcontractors, overseeing daily operations, troubleshooting challenges, and ensuring all deliverables meet Navy standards and timelines.
Manages the activities of workers engaged in the application and removal of various paint coatings on ships and non-nuclear components, interior/exterior surface ships preservation per NAVSEA Standard Item (009-32).
LOCATION: Norfolk, VA
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading and coordinating cross-functional teams on multiple concurrent shipboard installation projects.
- Overseeing schedules, staffing, materials, and quality assurance for technical deliverables.
- Assures quality of work meets NAVSEA Standards
- Providing project updates, technical briefings, and performance reports to leadership and Navy partners.
- Evaluating staff and subcontractor performance and implementing improvements where needed.
- Managing logistics, tracking long-lead materials, and resolving any issues that may impact cost or schedule.
- Properly handle and utilize hazardous materials/solvents, including but not limited to, toxic and non-toxic painting materials, select proper protection required when applying, removing, and properly disposing of Education.
- Must be a graduate with a high school diploma or GED equivalence.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of six years of experience in marine coatings and/or combination of marine and industrial coatings field. C12, C7, C14 or NBPI certification preferred.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills—able to manage personnel, logistics, and competing priorities with confidence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Project, for tracking and reporting.
- Must be able to work effectively with others.
- Must be steady, reliable worker
SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $75,000 per year
