Duties
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized therapy plans for clients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders
- Support early intervention programs and school-based services by working directly with children to promote language development and communication skills
- Conduct therapy activities under supervision, utilizing evidence-based techniques tailored to each client’s needs
- Support clients with language disorders by providing targeted exercises and engaging activities to improve articulation, fluency, and comprehension
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, occupational therapists, and medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and client records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Participate in telehealth therapy sessions when required, providing remote support to clients in various locations
Requirements
- Texas-certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or currently in the process of obtaining Texas SLPA licensure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support effective client interactions and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse client needs, including bilingual clients and individuals requiring specialized support for speech and language disorders.
