Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed, kid‑friendly Stylist who is professional, reliable, and passionate about delivering quality haircuts while creating a positive experience for every family. This full-time role includes weekends and requires strong teamwork, time management, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality children’s haircuts in line with each customer’s request and in a reasonable time (aiming for an average of 3 haircuts per hour).
- Greet families warmly, introduce yourself to parents and children, and clearly consult on haircut style, length, and preferences.
- Follow Pigtails & Crewcuts stylist process, including checking mid-cut that parents are happy and offering to adjust as needed.
- Educate parents on haircare needs and recommend appropriate retail products; support team retail goals each month.
- Assist with difficult or nervous children using patience, compassion, and approved calming techniques (lollipops, toys, age-appropriate movies, parent involvement).
- Maintain a clean, safe station and help with overall salon cleanliness: sweeping after each cut, sanitizing tools and chairs, tidying the playroom and bathrooms, and completing daily/weekly cleaning duties.
- Follow lice, safety, and incident procedures, including proper documentation when needed.
- Use the POS and appointment systems (FranPos) accurately for services, notes, and client information.
- Be a team player by helping other stylists with difficult children, sweeping around busy stations, and supporting front desk tasks when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Current cosmetology license in good standing.
- Experience cutting children’s hair strongly preferred, or clear comfort working with kids and parents.
- Professional, courteous, and team‑oriented attitude; able to “check personal issues at the door” and maintain a positive demeanor.
- Reliable attendance, especially on busy days and weekends; able to follow the posted schedule and communicate appropriately if issues arise.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, family environment and following established salon processes and policies.
Schedule and Pay
- Full-time role defined as more than 30 hours per week within the Sunday–Saturday work week.
- Saturdays are critical to salon success, and regular weekend availability is required.
- Weekly pay via direct deposit, with eligibility for team retail commission and stylist haircut goal bonuses per salon policy.
