An educational services organization on Long Island is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in Suffolk County to provide school-based care for children with a range of developmental needs. This role focuses on evaluation, treatment, documentation, and collaboration with families and school staff in a pediatric setting.

Hours: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Responsibilities:

Provide evaluations, treatment, consultation, and discharge planning for children with mild to complex needs.

Develop and update individualized education plans and school-based goals.

Establish treatment goals and implement age-appropriate plans of care.

Assess needs for assistive technology and adaptive equipment, provide written justification, and coordinate equipment purchases with families as needed.

Complete daily documentation, update treatment plans, and prepare regular progress reports.

Communicate client progress with families, school staff, and early intervention staff as appropriate.
Qualifications:

New York Physical Therapist license.

Experience in pediatric physical therapy.

Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training, and physical modalities.

Ability to build rapport with children, families or caregivers, and colleagues.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong computer skills for documentation.

Ability to work well in a dynamic school setting.

Ability to work effectively one-on-one and in co-treatment scenarios.
Desired Skills:

Experience within a school setting.

Experience working with an IDD population.
