Maintenance Technician

Sterling Industries is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing and facility operations. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional with strong electrical, mechanical, and industrial maintenance knowledge who enjoys troubleshooting and keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment and building systems
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical drawings
- Diagnose equipment failures and determine the most likely points of failure
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies
- Support general facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades as needed
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and safety, including:
- 600V / 480V / 460V / 440V / 277V / 240V / 120V systems
- Knowledge of control systems, including 120VAC, 24VAC, and 24VDC
- Ability to read and understand ladder logic (basic level)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Basic understanding of how CNC mills, lathes, and grinders operate
- Ability to read and interpret building, assembly, and mechanical schematics
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and symbols to identify faulty components
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and schematics
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with OSHA safety guidelines for industrial maintenance
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be organized and maintain clean environment
Preferred (Nice to Have) Skills
- MIG welding experience
- Manual machining skills (grinding shims, fabricating brackets, turning adapters, etc.)
- Experience operating industrial equipment, such as forklifts, manlifts, etc.
