Wickford Appliance is GROWING and is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Retail Sales Consultant to join our team at our Westerly store. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and wants real earning potential — this position has earning potential between $55,000 and $75,000 in their first year once fully on commission.
During the training period, you'll learn our products, systems, sales process and culture. Training typically takes about 60 days-120 days depending on the individual. The specifics of the training process can be discussed with you during your interview. Once a trained salesperson, you are compensated by an hourly rate plus commissions and manufacturer spiffs.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate appliance(s) for their homes and budgets
- Learn and use our Point-of-Sale System
- Build product knowledge across our appliance lines, including features, promotions, and pricing
- Guide customers through pricing, financing options, delivery, and installation details
- Follow up on leads and past customers to generate repeat and referral business
- Handle customer inquiries, returns, exchanges, and complaints according to company policy
- Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and visually appealing
- Meet and exceed individual and store sales goals
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years of related sales experience preferred; major appliance sales experience a plus
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Customer-focused attitude with a sales-oriented mindset
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a commission-based environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and Saturdays
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs. with another employee
