Title: Manufacturing Engineer (MFE)

Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Summary: A Manufacturing Engineer at Compotech is a driven problem-solver who bridges the gap between design and production. They bring a strong understanding of the implementation and support of manufacturing processes, ranging from composites to metal fabrication. Detail-oriented yet innovative, they balance throughput, reliability, and cost-reduction while collaborating across engineering and quality teams to transform complex concepts into scalable, high-quality production realities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports the planning, design, production, and testing phases for Compotech’s various programs.

Identifies and reviews processing methods and materials, then develops and recommends improvements to meet production needs.

Contributes to writing technical reports and papers detailing research and development activities for clients and sponsors.

Researches, recommends, and determines specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials, and supplies.

Identifies and interacts with various vendors and manufacturers to ensure project alignment.

Travels occasionally to support system training, technical presentations, and testing events.

Assists production teams with technically challenging projects, including robotic programming and process/product optimizations
Requirements:

B.S. in related Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical or other manufacturing focused discipline) or A.S. with applicable work experience.

Experience and/or coursework in some of the following areas: 3 axis CNC machining, CAM, composite manufacturing, automation

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and constant deadlines.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with Compotech’s engineers, technicians, interns, and contractors.

Excellent 3D computer aided design (CAD) skills using SolidWorks®.

Experience with complex assemblies, multi-body parts, drawings, and equations.

Experience in conceptual design and design modifications to meet budgetary constraints.

Experience with design, integration, and management of complex systems.

Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) practices and processes.
-
1 to 8+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:

Experience with design of composite structures and materials.
-
Experience with additive manufacturing
-
PLC operation and integration
-
Controls wiring
