The Job You Will Perform:
Maintenance Mechanic perform a variety of activities to maintain plant equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition. These activities include scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency / break down repairs.
0.2 Maintenance technicians report to the maintenance supervisor.
1.0 Primary maintenance Mechanic duties / responsibilities include :
1.1 - following all safety rules and practices;
1.2 - performing preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels;
1.3 - performing emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations;
1.4 - referencing equipment manuals and other technical literature;
1.5 - contacting and working with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results;
1.6 - accurately using measurement and test equipment;
1.7 - performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed;
1.8 - safely operating the boiler, and maintaining adequate operating steam pressure ( > 180 PSI);
1.9 - maintaining clean and organized work areas, and cleaning up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks;
1.10 - accurately and completely preparing and maintaining maintenance records and other paperwork;
1.11 - trouble-shooting and solving problems;
1.12 - maintaining teamwork with other associates;
1.13 - keeping supervision informed of problems and/or unusual situations;
1.14 - performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
2.0 Qualifications for maintenance Mechanic are the ability to perform the duties / responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation; the ability to read, write, and speak English; the ability to accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices; well-rounded electrical, mechanical, and machine shop skills and experience; the ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.
