Architect
Responsibilities and Experience
This is a unique position that allows you to not only draw projects but actually see them get built internally and work with both design & build on staff department professionals. Important skills for the position include the ability to manage your workflow of many jobs at one time , collaboratively engineer out drawings for permit submission and full construction drawings, including field measurements and issue resolution for our construction teams’ questions. You must have a detailed understanding of how to build each project, along with the CAD skills to produce detailed sets of construction documents for purchasing and ordering , client sign offs and support of our in-house permitting department.
Requirements for the position :

Proven skills and successes related to CAD, design, construction, and drafting of construction documents “CD’s”.

Excellent organizational skills

College degree and Illinois Registered Architect License are preferred.

Excellent multi-tasking skills

Ensure that all designs adhere to governing zoning, building and safety codes and regulations.

Experienced in review and redline of team drawings.

Well versed in permit submissions and zoning reviews for same.

Complete comfort in preparation of working blueprints for residential single-family homes and large remodeling projects including kitchens and baths cabinet details.

Good understanding of residential SF homes interior details including electrical layouts and mechanical systems

Value engineering of drawings.

Good knowledge of residential construction building products and components.

Experience in managing AutoCAD libraries and related programs for the department.
