Position: Part-Time Preschool Assistant Teacher
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Start Date: Flexible

Position Summary
The Preschool Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom for children ages 3–5. This position involves actively engaging with children, assisting with classroom instruction, preparing learning activities, maintaining classroom organization and cleanliness, and communicating professionally with staff and families.
Essential Responsibilities
Classroom Support
Assist with daily classroom routines and transitions.
Engage with children during centers, free play, outdoor play, and group activities.
Help supervise children while promoting a safe, caring environment.
Assist with snack preparation, setup, cleanup, and sanitizing.
Help prepare art projects and classroom activities.
Organize children’s cubbies, artwork, and take-home materials.
Support children with self-help skills and positive behavior guidance.
Classroom Organization
Reset learning centers throughout the day.
Help prepare classroom materials for upcoming lessons.
Maintain classroom calendars and bulletin boards.
Assist with birthday celebrations and classroom events.
Prepare classroom supplies and make copies as needed.
Help organize permission slips, Scholastic orders, newsletters, and family communications.
Classroom Maintenance
Clean and sanitize tables, toys, dishes, and classroom materials.
Vacuum and dust mop floors.
Wash classroom dishes and supplies.
Restock classroom supplies.
Help ensure the classroom remains clean, organized, and welcoming each day.
Team Responsibilities
Work closely with the Lead Teacher to implement lesson plans.
Participate in creating a positive, Christ-centered classroom culture.
Communicate professionally with staff and families.
Attend staff meetings or trainings as requested.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Must successfully complete required background checks.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities both indoors and outdoors.
Preferred:
Experience working with preschool or elementary-aged children.
Early Childhood coursework or degree.
CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
Previous experience in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting.
