How You'll Contribute
A Patient Sitter who excels in this role:

Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.

Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.

Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.

Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.

Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.

Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certifications

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Key services include a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit, a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, five Operating Rooms, and two Endoscopy Suites. Advanced diagnostic imaging services include MRI, CT, PET/CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray. The hospital's 13-bay Emergency Department treats more than 15,000 patients annually.
Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski, located on the campus of the University of the South, is a 41-bed facility offering 21 general acute care beds and 20 skilled nursing beds. The campus includes a 4-bay Emergency Department that cares for more than 5,000 patients each year. Our Emergency Room is often the first point of care for patients experiencing illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. At Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski, the ER is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where providers, nurses, technicians, and support staff work together to deliver timely, compassionate care when patients need it most.
As a Patient Sitter, you play an important role in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and support during their stay. You'll work closely with the healthcare team, provide one-on-one observation when needed, and help create a positive experience for patients and their families.
