Poe Asphalt Paving is looking for a dependable, motivated Shop Hand/Parts Runner to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys staying busy, likes working with their hands, and wants to learn the heavy equipment and diesel mechanic trade.
Whether you're just starting your career or already have some mechanical experience, we're looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. For the right person, this position offers the opportunity to grow into a skilled trade within our company.
What You'll Do
- Deliver and pick up parts from vendors and job sites
- Transport parts and equipment between Poe Asphalt locations (including Post Falls and other locations)
- Assist with organizing and maintaining the shop
- Perform general shop cleaning and housekeeping
- Help mechanics with repairs, maintenance, and daily shop tasks
- Load, unload, and organize parts and supplies
- Complete other shop and yard duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Clean driving record (required)
- Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated
- Able to safely lift 50+ pounds and work in a physically active environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Mechanical experience is a plus, but not required
