As our company continues to grow, we are seeking an Accounting & HR Associate who enjoys wearing multiple hats and making a meaningful impact across the organization. This position combines responsibility for the Company's human resources functions with hands-on accounting responsibilities, serving as a trusted business partner to leadership while supporting both our employees and our financial operations.
This individual will report directly to the CFO and will play a key role in maintaining a positive workplace culture, ensuring financial accuracy, supporting compliance, and helping position the company for continued growth.
Position Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Lead the full-cycle recruiting process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
- Serve as the primary HR resource for all employees.
- Administer employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding.
- Process hourly payroll and maintain employee records.
- Coordinate employee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and annual enrollment.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Partner with leadership on employee relations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Manage performance review processes and maintain job descriptions.
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures.
- Research market compensation and benefits to ensure competitive employment practices.
- Coordinate new employee technology setup with third-party IT providers.
Accounting & Finance
- Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax filings.
- Manage fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, vehicle registrations, insurance enrollments, and internal equipment rental rates.
- Maintain and reconcile selected general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close.
- Prepare project cost analyses and project closeout reporting.
- Support insurance audits and other financial reporting requirements.
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and systems improvements.
- Oversee administrative functions as assigned including company credit cards and cell phone management.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting and administrative processes through automation and documentation.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in accounting, human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred, equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, human resources, or a combination of both.
- Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service mindset and ability to build relationships.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to pass a background check.
