Position Overview
Are you energetic, reliable, and looking to jumpstart a career in the beverage industry? We are seeking a hardworking Beer Merchandiser / Driver Helper to join our distribution team.
In this dual role, you will assist our Delivery Drivers with daily routes, unloading shipments, and ensuring our retail partners (grocery stores, convenience stores, and liquor stores) are fully stocked, beautifully organized, and ready for customers. This is a physically demanding but highly rewarding role with potential room for growth into a dedicated Route Driver or Sales Representative position!
Key Responsibilities
- Route Assistance: Ride along with and assist the Delivery Driver in safely navigating routes and unloading heavy cases and kegs of beer at various retail accounts.
- Merchandising & Display: Stock shelves, coolers, and building eye-catching floor displays using our portfolio of beer brands.
- Inventory Rotation: Practice strict First-In, First-Out (FIFO) product rotation to ensure maximum freshness for consumers.
- Brand Representation: Maintain clean, neat, and organized backrooms and retail shelves. Ensure all products are properly priced and have correct point-of-sale (POS) signage.
- Customer Service: Act as a professional and friendly face of our distributorship, building positive relationships with store managers and receivers.
- Travel: Utilize your personal vehicle to travel between designated retail accounts when not riding with a driver (mileage will be fully reimbursed).
Schedule & Hours
- Days: Tuesday through Friday (Saturdays are available at affixed daily rate)
- Hours: Shifts typically start early in the morning (e.g., 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM) and run until the daily route is completed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Age: Must be 21 years of age or older
- Experience: Previous experience in merchandising, grocery stocking, warehousing, or delivery driving is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate!
- Physical Stamina: Ability to repetitively lift, push, pull, and move products weighing up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the day, and occasionally maneuver kegs up to 160 lbs.
- Transportation: Must have a reliable personal vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (for days requiring independent merchandising).
- Skills: Strong communication skills, great time-management, and a self-motivated "get-it-done" attitude.
