American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Medical ICU position requiring an active MA RN license and ICU experience.

Medical Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting
-
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
-
Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
-
Floating to other adult ICUs required as needed
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Scheduling is based on unit needs with no block scheduling accommodations
-
Union facility requiring availability to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations
-
Contract lengths of 13, 20, or 26 weeks available

Active MA RN license required (conditional license accepted if actively pursuing full licensure)
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
2 years of ICU experience highly preferred, though candidates with less experience will be considered
-
Trauma Level I experience preferred
-
Epic charting experience preferred
-
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
-
Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
-
Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade administration
-
Experience managing dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
-
Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, and massive transfusion protocols

Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
-
Provide direct patient care to critically ill adult ICU patients, including ventilator and hemodynamic management

Must pass a Pass/Fail Tele test during orientation with an 80% minimum score and only one attempt allowed

Must also complete a Pass/Fail Medication exam during orientation

Complete pre-start and orientation modules, with additional modules required annually

Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate

Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
-
Minimal RTO preferred, ideally 3-5 days, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
