Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Follow infection control protocols diligently to ensure a sterile environment, including sterilizing instruments and managing infection prevention measures.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding for accurate documentation.
- Experience with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, records management, and billing.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation review, medical records management, and medical terminology comprehension.
