A growing civil and utility construction contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of complex commercial and municipal infrastructure projects across Southern California. This role sits between the Project Engineer and Project Manager levels and is responsible for supporting project execution, coordinating documentation, and helping manage subcontractors, schedules, and budgets.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting civil or utility construction projects and is ready to take on more responsibility in project management and field coordination.
Support Project Managers with day-to-day project execution and coordination
Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
Assist with subcontractor coordination, scope review, and contract administration
Track project schedules, procurement logs, and material deliveries
Assist with cost tracking, billing, and change order documentation
Coordinate with field teams, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve construction issues
Support project meetings including OAC meetings and coordination meetings
Maintain organized documentation for project records and closeout packages
Help monitor project progress to ensure work stays on schedule and within budget
3–6 years of construction experience supporting project management
Experience on civil, infrastructure, or utility construction projects preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
Experience with Procore or similar project management software preferred
Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple project tasks in a fast-paced environment
