Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, including product demos when applicable
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for checkout transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Provide knowledgeable product recommendations and upselling suggestions to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Conduct inventory checks, assist with stock replenishment, and support merchandise organization efforts
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support the team with supervising experience by guiding new associates and fostering a collaborative environment
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cashiering procedures for smooth transaction processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and over the phone
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs more effectively
- Experience in retail sales, merchandising, stocking, and grocery store environments is highly valued
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Ability to perform product demos confidently and engage customers through upselling techniques
