We are seeking a detail-oriented, energetic, and customer-focused Cashier to join our front-of-house operations team. This entry-level position is perfectly suited for motivated young graduates looking to develop foundational skills in retail operations, customer experience, and financial transaction management. You will work closely with floor managers and customer service teams to streamline daily transaction workflows, maintain accurate point-of-sale logs, and elevate overall customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Management & POS Operation: Efficiently process customer purchases using electronic scanners and point-of-sale (POS) registers. Handle cash, credit, and digital transactions accurately.
- Customer Excellence: Greet customers warmly as they approach the checkout area, answer basic inquiries, and resolve minor service concerns with a positive, helpful attitude.
- Financial Accuracy: Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring all receipts, floats, and transactions reconcile perfectly without discrepancies.
- Inventory & Checkout Maintenance: Keep the checkout lane, register counter, and surrounding displays clean, organized, and fully stocked with essential materials. Assist with bagging merchandise carefully.
- Policy Compliance: Strict adherence to company policies regarding returns, exchanges, discounts, and the handling of secure financial data.
- Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with inventory management and floor staff to report stock discrepancies, register issues, or customer feedback to improve daily operational workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Recent Bachelor's degree or Graduate in Business Administration, Hospitality, Commerce, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: Entry-level (0–2 years of experience). Prior experience in customer-facing roles, part-time retail work, or university event management is a plus, but not required.
- Mathematical Proficiency: Strong basic math skills with a high degree of accuracy when handling cash transactions and calculating balances.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to handle high-volume customer interactions calmly and professionally.
- Technical Familiarity: Basic comfort with digital interfaces and computers. Willingness and ability to quickly learn proprietary POS software.
