SAVE is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to practice primarily in the hospital setting alongside our vascular surgeons. While we are a vascular specialist practice, the duties of our N.P. in the hospital frequently require attention to each patients' full scope of acute conditions and coordination of care among each patients' care team, including hospitalists, other specialists, and case management.
This position is an opportunity for a N.P. to expand their clinical skills and challenge themselves to grow in a way that results in optimal patient outcomes. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are required on a daily basis.

Essential Responsibilities
Demonstrate proficiency in assessing, diagnosing, and forming treatment plans for a broad spectrum of vascular conditions, including, but not limited to:
- Peripheral Arterial Disease
- Carotid Artery Disease
- Aneurysms of the Aorta and other arteries
- Dialysis access placement and maintenance
- Venous insufficiency and varicose veins with/without complications
Demonstrate proficiency in assessing the post-surgical/post-procedural clinical presentation of patients after vascular intervention including, but not limited to:
- Open surgical bypass
- Carotid endarterectomy
- Lower extremity bypass
- Dialysis access placement and/or repair
- Venous sclerotherapy and/or iliac vein stenting
- Repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm, endovascular or open surgical
- Endovascular treatment of lower extremity arterial disease
Complete daily hospital rounding and update the patients’ care team and family of the plan of care
Discuss any patient issues or concerns with the physician as soon as possible
Review all patients with the physician on a daily basis
Communicate with the patients’ PCPs, hospitalists, and other consulting physicians regarding the plan of care and to assure the plan is implemented
Establish open lines of communication with hospital staff and consulting physicians
Serve as a surrogate for the physician to hospital staff, physicians, etc.
Be available for calls regarding patients in the hospitals during the day
Inform the supervising physician of any changes to treatment plans or critical findings from patient visits
Provide clinical guidance to practice staff regarding scheduling of patients, appropriate testing, and follow up visits
Align clinical care with the goals of managed care organizations, where appropriate, to ensure streamlined care and non-duplication of resources
Represent the Practice in a professional, courteous, and highly communicative manner
General
- Interfacing with reception, scheduling, coding, and billing staff to ensure alignment with clinical realities and to address any clinical questions that arise from non-clinical staff
- Ensure procedures are followed to maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, Texas Workforce Commission, etc
- Other duties as assigned
SAVE will cover malpractices expenses and all credentialing support required for this position.
