Job Responsibilities:Equipment Operation & Project Execution
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, and rollers to complete underground utility installations and earthwork projects.
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, and backfilling for underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and storm drainage.
- Ensure precise cut and fill operations to achieve proper elevations and slopes.
- Assist with pipe laying and underground infrastructure placement as needed.
- Load and unload materials while maintaining proper site organization.
- Maintain control of excavation depths, slopes, and safety standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all OSHA, state, and company safety policies at all times.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow trenching and excavation safety protocols, including proper shoring techniques.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety guidelines.
Site Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with foremen, pipe layers, and ground crews to ensure smooth project execution.
- Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and site plans for accurate earthwork and utility placement.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure job site efficiency.
Maintenance & Equipment Care
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including greasing, fluid checks, and cleaning.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all machinery is operated safely and efficiently to prevent damage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45.0 – 60.0 per week
