We are a growing cabinet manufacturer that focuses primarily on commercial work. We do work in Illinois and all adjacent states. Our products are manufactured in Morton, IL. We are hiring for a full time estimator position for a commercial woodworking/ cabinetry shop.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of architectural millwork estimates in our ERP software;
- Review/explore documentation, specifications, and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate/opportunity;
- Engage in discussions about the extent of the work prior to bidding to ensure an understanding of the complete scope of the project;
- Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labor, and equipment;
- Research and obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors;
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for construction projects;
- Maintain accurate records of estimate data and update as necessary;
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with all stakeholders…. contractors, vendors, etc.
Requirements:
- Familiar with architectural prints;
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel;
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications;
- MUST be a solution finder when project challenges occur;
- Willingness to continually learn and develop new skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
- Pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
- Sales Experience is a PLUS
