Job Title: CNC Operator
Department: Manufacturing
Official Hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Reports To: Operations Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a CNC Operator that is responsible for operating CNC machining equipment to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role focuses on safe machine operation, part inspection, tool changes, and maintaining consistent production output.
Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines (mills, lathes) per work instructions
- Load and unload parts into machines
- Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and basic wear compensation
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, thread gages, comparators, etc.
- Verify parts meet drawing tolerances and quality requirements
- Identify and report non-conforming parts or process issues
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Perform routine machine maintenance (coolant checks, chip removal, lubrication)
- Accurately complete production, inspection, and traceability documentation
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and AS9100 quality system requirements
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure that AS9100 and customer requirements are met
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1+ years of CNC machine operation experience (or equivalent training)
- Proficient with inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparators, etc)
- Basic understanding of CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Haas and/or Fanuc controls
- Experience in aerospace, medical, or precision manufacturing
- Familiarity with fasteners, threaded components, or tight-tolerance parts
- Experience with in-process inspection
- Basic understanding of G-code and offsets
- Ability to work in an AS9100 and ITAR-controlled environment
- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
