Front Desk Agent
The Troubadour Hotel | New Orleans, Louisiana
The Troubadour is a 184-room independent boutique hotel in downtown New Orleans entering an exciting new chapter, rebuilding our team and culture around a single standard: excellence. We are looking for Rockstars to take the stage with us. The Front Desk Agent is the face of The Troubadour, owning the guest arrival, in-stay, and departure experience and serving as the central communication point between guests and every department in the hotel.
- Guest Experience: Greet, check-in, and check-out guests; verify ID, present keys, orient to property and neighborhood; review folios for accuracy.
- Reservations and Systems: Manage bookings across phone, email, walk-in, and OTA channels in Cloudbeds; maintain accurate guest profiles and special requests.
- Service Recovery: Anticipate guest needs; resolve inquiries and complaints with urgency, ownership, and follow-through.
- Cash Handling and Audit: Process payments accurately, balance the cash drawer, complete shift reports, and follow PCI-compliant handling of payment information.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Partner with Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, and leadership on room readiness, VIPs, group arrivals, and special events.
- Safety and Brand Standards: Follow key control, guest privacy, and emergency protocols; maintain a clean, organized lobby and uphold uniform and grooming standards.
- Local Knowledge: Maintain working knowledge of room types, rates, amenities, dining, and local attractions including the French Quarter, Warehouse District, and Caesars Superdome events.
- Required: High school diploma or GED; eligible to work in the U.S.; able to pass background check and drug screening; available AM, PM, and Overnight shifts including weekends and holidays; professional communication skills; strong attention to detail.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or Business; 1+ year front desk or guest services at a full-service hotel, OR 2+ years high-volume retail or customer service; experience with Cloudbeds or comparable PMS; familiarity with OTA platforms; conversational Spanish or French a plus.
Physical Requirements, Compensation, and Benefits
- Physical: Ability to stand for 8+ hour shifts; lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds; bend, reach, and use standard office equipment in a fast-paced indoor environment.
- Compensation: Starting at $14.00 per hour; rate flexible based on experience.
