In this lively role, you'll be the friendly face behind the counter. Some of your daily responsibilities would include restocking merchandise, gift wrapping, assisting customers with selections, keeping the store inside and out clean and tidy and also on occastion serving up delicious gelato in our gelato shop when needed. Your energy and positive attitude will help foster a welcoming environment that keeps customers coming back for more. Whether you're helping with product demos or managing sales transactions, this position offers a fun and fast-paced atmosphere perfect for motivated individuals eager to make a difference. Also being flexible to work our other similar store in town is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about flavors and new offerings, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Maintain merchandising displays, restock shelves, and ensure the shop is clean, organized, and inviting
- Assist with stocking supplies and managing inventory levels to ensure product availability
- Use effective phone etiquette when answering inquiries or taking orders remotelySkills
- Scoop and serve gelato as needed with precision, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in multiple languages (bilingual skills are a plus)
- Previous retail sales experience, especially in grocery stores or specialty shops, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Experience supervising or leading team members is preferred but not required; a proactive attitude is essential
- Ability to perform merchandising tasks, stock shelves, and manage inventory efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and positive attitude
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail math principles to assist in daily tasks effectively
