Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe handling techniques including Hoyer lifts and manual transfer methods.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately while maintaining detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or PCC.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory impairments in memory or dementia care units.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Assist with patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide reassurance and education about ongoing care plans.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a CNA in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or PCC to document patient information accurately.
- Familiarity with caring for geriatric patients and those with complex needs like infectious disease management or post-acute care is desirable.
- Proven ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges in community or institutional settings.
- Strong caregiving skills complemented by excellent communication abilities to coordinate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
