Title: Registered Dietitian
Location: Bronx, NY
Local Rate: $60-$62/hr on W2
Traveler Rate: $2300-$2400/week
Job Summary
We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutritional assessment, intervention, and education for patients in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop individualized nutrition care plans, monitor patient progress, and educate patients on dietary management and food-drug interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen and assess patients to determine nutritional needs and provide timely follow-up care.
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments using medical history, laboratory values, physical findings, and social factors.
- Interview patients and families to obtain dietary history, food preferences, and nutrition-related information.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
- Educate patients on therapeutic diets, nutrition management, and food-drug interactions.
- Document nutrition assessments, diet education, and patient understanding in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to recommend appropriate diet modifications.
- Modify patient menus based on clinical needs and physician orders.
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition from an accredited college or university.
- Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient acute care experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and nutrition counseling skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
- Three or more years of acute care experience.
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or equivalent diabetes educator credential.
- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) or expertise in nutrition support and critical illness.

Schedule
- 35 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (1-hour unpaid meal break)
- Weekend and holiday rotation required (typically 1–2 weekends per month)

Pay: $2,300.00 - $2,400.00 per week
