Open the Door to Opportunity.
Every student's Job Corps journey begins with someone who believes in their potential — and that someone could be you. As an Admissions Counselor, you'll lead the recruitment and arrival coordination of new students, guiding applicants through the enrollment process and helping determine who's ready to take that first step toward a brighter future.
This is a role for a natural connector and relationship-builder: someone who thrives in the community, communicates with warmth and clarity, and takes pride in helping young adults find the program that can change their lives.
Why Join Us? Make a Real Impact!
Job Corps is a transformative program that provides education, vocational training, and career readiness to young adults. In this role, you're the very first point of contact — the person who introduces students to a life-changing opportunity, sets them up for a smooth start, and lays the foundation for their success from day one.
What You'll Do
Recruit & Coordinate Student Arrival
Lead the recruitment and arrival coordination of Job Corps students. Determine applicant qualifications, eligibility, and suitability for enrollment through comprehensive screening procedures, secure and evaluate applicants' behavioral, medical, and educational records, and — where appropriate — deny enrollment and refer applicants to other educational resources.
Guide Applicants Through Admissions
Conduct thorough assessment activities and career counseling throughout the admissions process. Serve as a liaison to Center staff to facilitate a seamless enrollment process and strong early retention, and conduct Center tours, pre-arrival visits, and parent meetings that help applicants and families feel confident and welcomed.
Build Community Partnerships
Identify and develop Center-beneficial partnerships that lead to student benefit and success. Work closely with community agencies, employment services, high schools, and trade and technical schools to inform prospective applicants about Job Corps, and act as a liaison between the Center and the community while developing and maintaining referral linkages.
Uphold Standards & Collaborate
Follow all integrity guidelines and ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive information and student data, helping the Center meet or exceed DOL/Company performance goals. Mentor and model the Career Success Standards, provide high-quality supervision that positively influences student behavior, communicate clearly, resolve problems with sound judgment, partner across all departments, and accept direction from the Center Director, Duty Officer, or Shift Manager, including other duties as assigned. You may supervise assigned Work-Based Learning students.
