JOB DESCRIPTION
- Provides comprehensive civil/structural engineering design services for substation and/or transmission facilities, and to ensure that these facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed resource allocations.
- Provides civil engineering expertise to develop substation/civil plans for sitework including grading, off-site improvements, drainage facilities, fencing and block walls, and landscaping.
- In addition, completes calculations and prepares designs for substation steel structures, foundations, and control enclosures.
- Provides civil engineering expertise to transmission line engineering design/analysis, route analysis and selection, calculations for line design (includes structure loading, foundation design and conductor sag), specifies materials and evaluates bid documents and technical submittals, and completes the construction package.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from accredited school in design / engineering and 7 years industry experience and 3 years as a Sr. Design engineer
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Civil/structural engineering design services for substation and/or transmission facilities
- Civil plans for sitework including grading, off-site improvements, drainage facilities, fencing and block walls, and landscaping.
Skills such as:
- Analytical, interpersonal and communication with company personnel, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- evaluating bid documents and technical submittals that completes the construction package
This position will require driving to field locations on occassion. Travel less than 10%.
Pay: $78.00 - $83.00 per hour
