Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with individuals of varying needs, including those with developmental disabilities and memory-related conditions.
Duties
As a Nursing Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs and patient health information.
- Supporting patients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Administering medications as directed by nursing staff.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Maintaining accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Engaging in infection control practices and adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Assisting in specialized care areas such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, and critical care settings.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Long-term care experience or assisted living environments.
- Hospital experience, particularly in acute care or emergency medicine settings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for medical documentation.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in geriatrics.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques.
