Summary:
Assists the Home Repair Crew Leader with crews, volunteers and participants in the work activities of home repair and the construction of new homes for low-income families/individuals
Essential Job Functions:

Under the guidance of a CAP Crew Leader, performs basic construction activities and assists with the oversight of construction activities of the home repair workers, volunteers, and homeowners. Once fully trained, may be called upon to lead volunteers during WorkFest or YouthFest, our alternative spring break programs for college and high school students. Also, may lead volunteers during group season. 80%
- Assists the Crew Leader with assessments of jobs prior to repairs and securing needed materials before and during construction. Follows all safety procedures. Responsible for personal safety and safety of other crew members. 10%
- Assists the Crew Leader in the care and accountability of all equipment and tools. Practices good stewardship in the use of supplies. 10%

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
18 Months of Additional Training in a Related Field Required
Years of Experience:
2 or more years of successful experience in related field or combination of education and experience
Certifications and Licensure:
Possess a Valid Kentucky Driver's License and Maintain a Safe Driving Record Required
CAP Driving Certification* (or ability to obtain within first 90 days) Required
- In order to drive personal vehicle on CAP business, must obtain and maintain a policy of motor vehicle insurance coverage on privately-owned vehicle with insurance coverage amounts of $50,000 bodily injury per person per accident; $100,000 bodily injury for all bodily injuries per accident; and $50,000 property damage per accident.
DOT Medical Card Required
CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens/AED (or ability to obtain) Required
Ability to pass the OSHA 10 hour safety course exam Required
EPA Certification for Lead Renovator (or ability to obtain) Required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, walk
Ability to crawl, kneel, and/or climb
Lift 80 lb from ground and carry 50 ft and place on shelf at 36 inches
Lift 45 lb and carry 50 ft with one hand
Climb 10 ft step ladder carrying 70 lb
Lift 50 lb from ground and place on a 100 inch shelf, may use step ladder if needed
Walk 100 ft on uneven ground
Work in close spaces
Lifts/moves items with unknown weight or that are awkward shapes and sizes with assistance
Have good visual acuity with corrective lenses
Have good hearing capabilities
Stand for extended periods of time
