Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservation bookings using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Escort guests to their tables, provide menus, and answer initial questions with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Manage waitlists and seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and minimize wait times.
- Handle cashier responsibilities accurately by processing orders through POS systems, including food and beverage transactions.
- Maintain clear communication with kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
- Answer phone inquiries with proper phone etiquette, take reservations, and address guest concerns promptly.
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure guest relations are positive through attentive service and effective communication.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with restaurant operations.
- Strong organizational skills to manage reservations, seating charts, and cashier duties efficiently.
- Proficiency with restaurant reservation management software and POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and guest interaction techniques.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing registers at shift end.
- Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure a hygienic environment for guests and staff.
