The Opportunity
As an Intervention Specialist, you'll work directly with students who require specialized educational services and individualized support.
You'll partner with classroom teachers, administrators, families, and other professionals to identify student needs, implement effective interventions, and create an environment where students can make meaningful academic and developmental progress.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction based on student needs and educational goals
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum, instructional methods, and classroom materials to support different learning needs
- Provide appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Track academic and behavioral progress and adjust interventions based on student data
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support students in inclusive classroom settings
- Maintain timely and accurate special education records and service documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, re-evaluations, and student support meetings
- Contribute to ETRs, FBAs, BIPs, 504 Plans, and other required documentation as appropriate
- Communicate effectively with families, teachers, administrators, and related-service professionals
- Support students' academic growth while helping them strengthen independence, confidence, and classroom success
- Ensure services and documentation meet applicable Ohio and federal special education requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Current Ohio Intervention Specialist/Special Education teaching license
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Familiarity with IDEA, Section 504, and special education compliance
- Ability to collect, interpret, and use student progress data
- Strong classroom management and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary school team
- Comfortable using educational technology, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to complete all required background and credentialing requirements
