Position Summary
Advanced Pain Medicine Associates is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payment Poster to join our business office team. This role is responsible for accurate posting of payments from both patients and commercial insurance payers, resolving credit balances, and assisting with patient account inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of insurance EOBs, and the ability to identify discrepancies requiring further investigation.
Key Responsibilities
· Post insurance and patient payments accurately and efficiently.
· Review and interpret insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
· Identify unusual denials and payment discrepancies requiring investigation.
· Work and reconcile credit balance accounts.
· Prepare and process refunds for patients and insurance carriers.
· Assist patients with account questions and payment inquiries.
· Collect payments and establish payment plans as appropriate.
· Manage and monitor bad debt accounts in accordance with office policy.
· Communicate effectively with insurance representatives and patients.
· Collaborate with business office staff while maintaining the ability to work independently.
Qualifications
· Minimum 2 years of direct payment posting experience in a healthcare setting (required).
· Strong understanding of commercial insurance processes and EOB interpretation.
· Ability to recognize denials that require investigation rather than adjustment.
· Ability to work in an office cubicle environment.
· Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Schedule
Monday-Thursday 6:15am-5:00pm
Friday- CLOSED
No Holiday or Weekends!
