Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and highly skilled Boat Captain to lead vessel operations with confidence and precision. As a Boat Captain, you will be responsible for safely navigating boats, managing crew members, and ensuring an exceptional experience for all passengers. Your mechanical knowledge, management skills, and military background will be instrumental in maintaining safety standards, overseeing rigging operations, and executing smooth day-to-day vessel functions. Responsibilities
- Safely operate and navigate boats in accordance with maritime laws and safety protocols
- Lead crew management, including training, scheduling, and supervising team members to ensure efficient vessel operations
- Oversee rigging procedures for loading, unloading, and securing cargo or equipment on the vessel
- Conduct routine mechanical inspections of engines, navigation systems, and safety equipment to prevent issues before they arise
- Implement emergency procedures swiftly and effectively in case of onboard incidents or adverse weather conditions
- Maintain detailed logs of voyages, maintenance activities, safety checks, and crew reports
- Collaborate with management to plan routes, coordinate schedules, and optimize vessel performance for passenger comfort and safety
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Boat Captain or similar maritime leadership role with a strong emphasis on safety and navigation
- Military background preferred for discipline, strategic thinking, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated management skills to lead crew members efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Mechanical knowledge of boat engines, navigation systems, and rigging equipment is essential
- Ability to perform rigging tasks accurately for cargo handling or vessel setup
- Valid maritime certification/license appropriate to the vessel size and type
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, passengers, and emergency responders
