This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with a background in schools who thrives in a collaborative, educational setting. You’ll play a critical part in fostering a healthy environment for students, staff, and families, serving the school community from August 17, 2026, to May 27, 2027. Working school hours from 8 am to 3:30 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), you’ll ensure continuity in care and promote student success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active RN license in good standing
- Several years of experience as a nurse in school settings
- Ability to perform the functions of a Certified School Nurse (CSN) or willingness to grow into the role
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, educators, and staff
- Experience with school health protocols, care plans, and state regulations
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing services to students, including medication administration, first aid, and care for acute and chronic health conditions
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized health plans
- Serve as a liaison among the school, families, and healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with policies
- Support health education initiatives and promote safety
- Collaborate with educational teams to facilitate safe and inclusive learning environments
