WFS is currently looking for a Therapist II - Ed/SBBH for our School Based Behavioral Health Program at Dickson Steam Middle School -Woodland Hills School District. To provide the behavioral health services and interventions necessary to maximize the school experience and academic potential of designated students identified within an assigned program(s). This position may also carry a caseload of Outpatient or Brief Treatment client/consumers as assigned, providing intensive therapeutic services to a child and family during summer break or in settings other than a provider agency or office.
This position follows an academic school year calendar (10 months with summers off however paid throughout the summer); Optional Extended School Year program in July; Monday-Friday schedule; Weekends and Holidays Off
Responsibilities and Duties (full description available at https://wfspa.org)
1. Conducts a comprehensive assessment of identified students, based on child’s strengths and interests, and reflecting recovery/resiliency principles. (caseload determined by school district support team or Clinical Assistant Director as applicable).
2. Coordinates the development and implementation of a plan of treatment/service for identified students and/or their parents (including behavior intervention plans, group, milieu or family therapy as indicated) in conjunction with treatment team as appropriate.
3. Supports and implement positive strength-based strategies utilizing positive behavior support approach.
4. Facilitates transition and discharge planning.
5. Maintains complete records through documentation that is accurate, concurrent, and, for partial hospital, within utilization review timelines.
6. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team to ensure effective, cohesive clinical and educational strategies/approaches are appropriately utilized for each student. This includes formal and informal, ongoing communications.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
Master’s degree in social work, psychology, child development, psychiatric nursing, or a related field.
Experience
· 3 years of experience in a child/adolescent behavioral health program.
· School-based partial hospitalization program experience preferred.
· Safe physical management training experience preferred.
· Provider credentialing experience preferred (e.g., Highmark or UPMC Health Plan); required for some programs.
· 1 year of experience developing treatment plans and writing measurable goals.
· 1 year of experience developing therapeutic programs that guide treatment goals.
· 1 year of experience collecting data and reporting outcomes for goal attainment.
· Experience with various data collection methods.
· Experience writing Behavioral Modification Treatment Plans preferred.
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances
FBI, State Criminal and State Child Abuse Clearances
Valid PA drivers’ license
BCBA licensure in addition is preferred in some programs
