Glazier duties and responsibilities
The primary responsibility of a Glazier is to ensure the proper installation of windows and skylights in homes and commercial buildings. Some common job duties for the position include:
- Using tools to cut and shape glass to fit frames precisely
- Checking that glass is properly aligned and straight during the installation process
- Assembling and installing metal and wood components used to hold glass
- Fastening glass in place with clips, moldings and other components
- Sealing windows with putty or weather seal
- Inspecting completed work to ensure it is free of defects
- Complying with federal, state and local health and safety regulations and building codes
