SUMMARY:
The Tool and Die Setter will be responsible for maintaining assigned equipment as needed for maximum product quality and operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
· Position will be responsible for maintenance of press dies, injection molds and thermal press molds.
· Responsible for the proper set-up of all die-related functions such as watering of the die, knockout, runner set-up, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
· Responsible for Die and Mold removal, cleaning, and inspection and installation as well as minor repairs.
· Responsible for all Die and Mold changes done per the production schedule and all emergency changes.
· Responsible for all Die insert and Mold size changes.
· Maintains a log of changes and preventative maintenance.
· Identifies mold and die deficiencies and notifies management.
· Must be able to run and/or assist in running the press as necessary.
· Follow all safety and shut down procedures.
· Ability to read dial micrometers and calipers.
· Ability to read error codes and perform assessments and corrective actions based on error codes.
· Perform quality control and log results.
· Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane, sheet metal gobbler, and other tools of the trade.
· Must complete activity and quality records daily.
· Responsible for maintaining the orderly appearance of all mold and die storage areas.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Experience with Stamping Press and automated Feed Lines preferred.
· Experience with Injection Molding mold maintenance preferred.
· Mechanically inclined, ability to run machine independently.
· Good understanding of machine operation preferred.
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
· Must consistently be at work and on time.
· Must have passion & enthusiasm for work.
