We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience while managing essential administrative functions. Your responsibilities will include scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and facilitating efficient patient flow through the revenue cycle. Responsibilities
- Confidentiality & Compliance: Safeguard patient health information in line with HIPAA and hospital policies.
- Patient Registration: Complete timely and accurate registrations and pre‑registrations for all patients, including emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and OB admitting.
- Guest Relations: Provide hospitable service, greet patients warmly, use translators when needed, and maintain professional communication.
- Organizational Efficiency: Prepare paperwork, labels, and forms; manage priorities; complete 20–30 registrations per shift.
- Emergency Department Support: Ensure patients are registered within 30 minutes post‑screening; initiate Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) or Uncompensated Care applications when needed.
- Admitting & Outpatient: Handle scheduled patient pre‑registrations, secure copayments, and manage OB procedure scheduling.
- Accuracy Standards: Maintain 95% accuracy in data entry, insurance verification, and consent documentation.
- Collections: Request and process patient payments, set up payment plans, and educate patients on financial responsibility.
- Flexibility: Work across multiple registration departments, adjust schedules, and assist during emergencies.
- Teamwork & Customer Service: Collaborate with staff, respond constructively, and uphold hospital values of respect, dignity, and compassion.
- Growth & Improvement: Participate in performance improvement programs, staff meetings, and ongoing education.
- Attendance & Safety: Adhere to attendance policies, maintain a safe work environment, and complete required health and safety evaluations.
Job Description:
- Should have at least 1 year of experience in patient registration/ patient access, hospital registration, a high-volume healthcare front desk experience in a hospital.
- Should have a High School diploma or equivalent (evidence of continuing education is preferred).
- Should possess strong knowledge of health insurance, insurance verification, medical billing, and determining patient liabilities (copays, deductibles, coinsurance).
- Should have strict adherence to HIPAA laws and ideally possess a strong grasp of medical terminology.
- Should have a typing speed of at least 45 WPM, strong computer skills (Word, Excel), and the ability to manoeuvre through multiple screens quickly.
- Should possess a valid Driver's License and the ability to travel to off-site outpatient locations.
Shift Timing: 8AM-5PM
Weekly schedule: M-F

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
