We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Providing medication administration as prescribed and ensuring compliance with health care plans.
- Supporting individuals with dementia care and memory care techniques to enhance cognitive function.
- Engaging clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
- Preparing meals and assisting with cooking to ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Performing light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Lifting clients as needed for mobility assistance or transfers, including heavy lifting when required.
- Offering companionship and emotional support to clients during hospice care or other sensitive situations.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Previous experience in home community care or direct support roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and memory care strategies is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist with mobility challenges.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving, demonstrating patience and understanding in all interactions.
