Position Summary:
The Reporting & Business Systems Analyst supports Commonwealth's Business Systems & Process Excellence function by developing reports, dashboards, and analytics that help leaders make informed business decisions. This role works closely with stakeholders across Operations, Accounting, AP, Payroll, IT, HR, Marketing, Business Development, Engineering, Safety, Estimating, Service, and Procurement to understand reporting needs, analyze data, and deliver meaningful insights. While the primary focus of this position is reporting and analytics, the role will also support business systems, process improvement initiatives, data governance efforts, system testing, and application enhancements. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving business problems, improving processes, and supporting enterprise applications. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to translate business needs into effective reporting and technology solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and enhance reports, dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations.

Partner with business leaders to identify reporting requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Analyze business data and provide insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and other reporting solutions.
-
Develop recurring and ad hoc reports for operations, accounting, payroll, HR, safety, procurement, and executive leadership.

Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.

Support enterprise reporting initiatives across CMiC, Fieldpoint, Prophix, RIVET, Remarcable, Microsoft applications, and other business systems.

Document reporting requirements, business rules, and data definitions.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities.

Assist with business systems testing, upgrades, and enhancement projects.

Participate in data governance initiatives and help promote reporting consistency across the organization.

Support integration and data mapping efforts as needed.

Provide training and support to end users regarding reports, dashboards, and analytics tools.

Assist with system implementations, process improvement projects, and acquisition-related data activities.

Maintain documentation related to reporting solutions, data sources, and business processes.

Work closely with IT and business systems teams to ensure data accuracy and availability.

Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2-5 years of experience in reporting, business analysis, data analysis, business intelligence, or business systems support.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience developing reports and dashboards using reporting and analytics tools.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Ability to interpret and analyze large volumes of data.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.

Experience with SQL, database queries, or data analysis tools.

Experience with ERP systems such as CMiC or similar enterprise applications.

Experience with construction, project-based, or service-oriented businesses.

Exposure to data governance, system integrations, or business process improvement initiatives.

Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools.

Experience supporting finance, payroll, operations, or project management reporting.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Relevant certifications in Power BI, data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting tools are a plus.
