Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games to promote fun and learning.
- Ensure the safety of all campers by monitoring their behavior, managing group dynamics, and implementing child safety protocols such as first aid procedures.
- Facilitate inclusive activities that cater to diverse needs, including those requiring special education or behavioral management strategies.
- Assist with daily camp routines such as check-ins, meal times, rest periods, and end-of-day departures to ensure smooth operations.
- Foster a positive environment by encouraging teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship among campers.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and fellow staff members regarding camper progress or concerns.
- Support campers’ emotional well-being through Christian counseling principles or other supportive techniques when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques to support positive growth.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to lead groups confidently and responsibly.
- Experience in teaching, sports coaching, theater arts or working with students can enhance your effectiveness as a counselor.
- Ability to adapt activities for children with special needs or those requiring additional support in early childhood education settings.

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
