Who we are
TakeControl IT is a managed IT services company based in Overland Park, KS. We work with small and mid-sized businesses across Kansas and Missouri to handle their IT so they can focus on running their business. We are a growing team and we are looking for the right person to help us expand our client base locally.
What this role is
You will be the first point of contact for businesses that could become our clients. Your job is to find the right companies, start the conversation, build the relationship, and set up meetings for our team to close. This is a real sales role with real growth built into it, not an administrative position with a sales label on it.
If you studied business, marketing, or communications and you actually want to use that degree in a hands-on environment, this is the role for you. We are not looking for someone who wants to sit behind a desk and wait for leads to come in. We want someone hungry, organized, and ready to get out there.
What you will do day to day:
- Identify and research local businesses in Kansas and Missouri that could benefit from managed IT services
- Reach out via phone, email, and LinkedIn to introduce TakeControl IT and start a conversation
- Run online email marketing campaigns to generate leads and keep TakeControl IT top of mind with prospects
- Cold call businesses daily and follow up consistently across all social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram
- Visit businesses in person, meet with decision makers, and build real relationships that turn into long term clients
- Set discovery calls and in-person appointments for our team
- Attend local networking events, chamber of commerce meetings, and business groups alongside our founder
- Track all outreach and follow-ups in a CRM and stay on top of your pipeline
- Share weekly updates on what is working, what is not, and what you need from us to close more meetings
- Understanding of full sales pipeline building — from prospecting and outreach all the way to follow-up, nurturing, and closing — is a strong plus
What we are looking for:
- Degree or coursework in business, marketing, communications, or a related field — or up to 2 years of sales or customer-facing experience
- Someone who understands full sales pipeline building from prospecting and cold outreach all the way through follow-up, nurturing, and closing
- Comfortable cold calling businesses daily and not afraid of rejection
- Knows how to run email marketing campaigns and use online tools to generate and manage leads
- Active on social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram and knows how to use them for business outreach
- Confident enough to walk into a business, meet with a decision maker in person, and build a real relationship
- Organized and self-directed, able to manage multiple outreach channels at the same time without dropping the ball
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Local to the Kansas City area and able to work in person in Overland Park
