Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Program Assistant to join our team. As a Child and Youth Program Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to children and youth in our program. Duties:
- Assist in planning and implementing educational and recreational activities for children and youth
- Provide supervision and ensure the safety of all participants
- Support children with special education needs, including behavior management strategies
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all participants
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
- Assist with classroom management, including maintaining discipline and promoting positive behavior
- Provide first aid or emergency care as needed
- Support children's social-emotional development
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and progress
Experience:
- Experience working with children or youth in an educational or childcare setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with children, parents, and staff members
- Experience in sports coaching or leading recreational activities is a plus
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or related field is preferred
- First aid certification is a plus
- Ability to pass a background check is a MUST
